To find an artist click 'Search' on the top menu.
Basic Search
To use the basic search simply click the basic search link on the search page, enter what you are looking for and click search.
If you want to narrow your search to include a town or region then please include this
at the end e.g. 'blues band rochester' will return all blues bands registered as available to
play in Rochester.
Advanced Search
If you know the type of artist required then select this from the 'Type' drop down list within the search page.
Once 'Type' has been selected a relevant list of sub-types is displayed. To select a specific sub-type, un-tick
the (all) box to the left of the sub-types and then use the scroll bar on the right of the box to find the
sub-types required. You can leave the 'Types' list selected at
'All Types' and then select from the full list of subtypes. This works well for common subtypes like 50's, 60's
in which case every type of 50's or 60's act is returned regardless of weather they are a band or duo etc.
If you are looking for an artist you already know then you can search
by entering any part of the artist name. e.g. stones will return all
artists with ‘stones’ in the name and if you are looking for a tribute band
then enter the name of the original artist. It's also worth entering the original artist name in the
keyword search at the top of the screen if the advanced search does not return a desired artist.
If you have been given an MusicBizList flyer or business card you can enter the unique ID number in the Keyword/ID box to
return full details of an artist and their bookings.

We recommend 44100Htz with a bitrate of 128kbps as a maximum. If you wish to produce your own sound clips there are many ways to do this:
1. From vinyl, tape and CD you can load from an amplifier output through your auxiliary-in on your sound card and depending what software you have can save it direct to MP3 format or wav. format and convert later.
2. You can also record live through your amplifier in the same way using a microphone or direct to your sound card if it has a microphone input.
3. CD's can also be copied direct from your CD-ROM using 'ripper' software.
You can download many free programs from the Internet to rip and edit your clips – and there are some that are basic and easy to use on www.mp3machine.com
Once on the site:
a) select ‘CD Ripper’ category from main page and then your operating system – there are many to choose from but Alto MP3 Maker 3.12 worked well for us.
b) there are also MP3 editors found under the ‘Editor’ category and we found MP3 Sound Cutter 1.35 demo the easiest to use.
Once you have edited and saved your clip on your PC you can use the browse button on the sound upload page to find it and upload to your profile.

This page allows you to generate a html link
that can be inserted in your own web site. Bookings you enter using the
MusicBizList facility will then appear as if they are part of
your own web site.
To match the format of your site you can select
colors and make adjustments to the text sizes from the drop down lists for the
corresponding areas of the page. The 'Link Text' box at the bottom allows you to
customise the link as it will appear on your website. For example ‘My Band Name
– current bookings’.
Once you have completed your selections, click the
'Create Link' button to generate the link and a sample link that will appear at
the bottom of this page. You can then click this sample link to see the finished
page. If you go back to make adjustments - you will need to click the 'Create
Link' button again to update the link and the sample link button again to see
the changes.
When you are satisfied with your web page you can
then copy and paste this link into the appropriate place on your web page.

in national/regional searches when the specific types and styles you give them
is searched. The artist will also appear when the relevant category is
searches. You can use the Entertainment Diary to manage the bookings of all your
acts or just to be kept informed of your acts availability.
